Today I played a little bit (okay, a lot) of Super Mario World on my Wii's Virtual Console. I was able to get Star Road Section 1 from the secret exit of Donut Secret House in Donut Plains. After that, I went up to Star World, beat it, then successfully beat the secret section of Vanilla Dome, and beat the two Butter Bridge levels, thus providing a shortcut (sort of) to Ludwig von Koopa of Castle #4, although I didn't attempt to beat him. At least not yet. I went back to Vanilla Dome, beat it, along with Lemmy Koopa of Castle #3, and beat the rest of the Twin Bridges, plus finding the secret exit to the Cheese Bridge Area by flying (with blue Yoshi) under the normal goal gate and going past it to the secret gate, finding a 3-up Moon on the way, and getting to Soda Lake. I beat that, thus unlocking Star Road Section 3. Then I beat Ludwig and went on to the Forest of Illusion, winding my way through it to get to the Blue Switch Palace and Forest Fortress, the second as an attempt to unlock Star Road Section 4. I beat the Blue Switch Palace, beat Forest of Illusion 1, 2, and 3, and the Forest Ghost House, while in the process accumulating around 85 or so lives and the road to Roy Koopa of Castle #5. Unfortunately, I ran out of time to beat the Forest of Illusion and had to get ready for bed.

After I got home from my doctor's appointment at 11:00 a.m., me and my mom decided to take some pictures for my blog. Then I decided to play some more Super Mario World. I beat Roy Koopa of Castle #5 before he could even get up the wall! I'd say that that's pretty impressive. Anyway, at about that time, my brother Chase and sister Kayla came home from their mom's house. Chase watched me play, and then when I was with Mom talking about blog stuff, Chase beat the Choco-Ghost House for me. I still think I could haveve beaten it, though. Any way, I also found the key in Chocolate Island 2 by using a Cape Feather and Yoshi and running full speed ahead into the pipe, then going to the section with the slopes. I used the Paratroopas as "platforms" and zipped into the next pipe with 262 seconds to spare. Just an FYI, you have to have at least 250 seconds on the clock by the second pipe in the level to find the key leading to the secret exit of Chocolate Island 2, thus leading to the Chocolate Secret Level. I got the key, got through the secret exit, paused my game, and started blogging.

After my tutor left I decided to play Super Mario World once again. I beat Chocolate Island 3, the Chocolate Fortress, Chocolate Island 4 and 5, beat Wendy Koopa of Castle #6, survived the Sunken Ghost Ship, and made it past Valley of Bowser 1, 2, and Valley Ghost House. Then (finally[ha ha...]) got bored of Super Mario World and decided to play Kirby 64: The Crystal Shards. I beat levels 1, 2, and 3, and beat the boss of World 1, Whispy Woods.

I played Sonic the Hedgehog, Super Mario Bros. 2, Super Mario Bros.: The Lost Levels, and Super Mario World today.

Sonic the Hedgehog: I was able to beat level 1. At the end of level 1, there's a gigantic ring at the exit. Jump through it and you'll get to play a bonus game where you try to collect as many rings as you can. I also beat level 2, but I can't beat the boss of world 1 in level 3. It might just be hard. I'm just saying.

Super Mario Bros.: The Lost Levels: This one was also hard. You just really need to think. You can warp to world 2 by going up on the ledge, jumping up to the ceiling, running, and finding Warp Zone, but you need to run at full speed ahead and jump at exactly the right moment. I did get to World 2-3, which is a mild improvement, but other than that, there isn't a lot to say.

Super Mario Bros. 2: This one, unfortunately, was also hard. I can barely even beat World 1 yet! On the bright side, I do have a couple of cheats for you. To beat the boss of World 1, Mouser, it's easy. Just throw bombs back at him that he throws at you 3 times. Bombs won't directly hurt him, but the explosion will. I only hit him once before dying. The second cheat is warping to World 4. In World 1-3,make sure you're at the building place with the door potion and the black jumping things and bird guys guarding it. Go past the building  and you'll see a jar. Set down the potion, zip into Sub-space, pull up some coins if you want, get on the jar, and go into it. It acts like a warp pipe in Super Mario Bros. and will zoom you to World 4-1 in only about 5 seconds flat. Literally. Just beware of the slippery ice!

Super Mario World: Okay, this is probably starting to get a little boring, even for me, but I'm basically right outside Bowser's front door. I got a little bit burned out, so I skipped Larry of Castle #7. I'll explain how in my next post. I'm still pretty sure I can beat Larry, though. Anyway, once I beat the game, I'll post it.

Kirby's Dream Land 3: This was great! I beat the first world and got the Star Heart Icons in it, and beat Whispy Woods. The Star Heart Icons are a bit challenging. I'll tell you how to get them.

Level 1: This one is simple. Just don't walk over the flowers.
Level 2: This one is a bit more complicated. you have to have Chuchu the Octopus (or Blob, whatever you think) to a certain "room" where this spring guy is kind of pouting. Discard your powers if you have any, and then  press the inhale (or in this case grab) button to touch the spring guy. Doing so will cheer him up and award you a Star Heart Icon.
Level 3: At some point in the level you'll meet up with a blue guy with a brown hat. He'll throw spiky things, not at you, but behind some walls. You have to look closely to see how many needles it has. Then press the left and right buttons to make a selection. Get the answer correctly 3 times, and bingo! Heart Star Icon for you!
Level 4: This one is complicated. You have to go through a certain door to find the giant fireball with legs. He'll charge at you, so jump to avoid his attacks. When he slams into a wall, he'll drop an ember. Inhale this and spit it back out at him to attack. Keep doing this until you beat him. Then inhale him to get Fire. Later, you'll find a door that leads you to a corridor. go through it, get the monkey, and you've earned your Star Heart Icon.
Level 5: This one is simple. Just get Kine the Ocean Sunfish to he end of the level without dying.
Level 6: You need to find the shapes in this level: a green triangle, a blue square, and an orange circle. Go on the left side of the tree and go up, up, up, until you find the triangle. Drop down and you'll find a 1-up icon. Then, go to the right side of the tree and again go up, up, up, to the square. Drop down, down, down to find the circle. And KA-POW! Another Heart Star Icon!

I had to get a hair cut today. I did get some cupcakes at Retro Bakery with my mom for Sean's birthday, and I got to see my cousins Hailey and Brooklyn.

Now to video games.

Super Mario 64 DS: I got the secret star with the Boos. You have to punch them, and you have to be Mario. After that, I found some blocks. Breaking them got me another level! I beat that, then went back inside the castle. I got into the level with that big button that turns the blocks solid by accumulating 14 power stars and standing and looking into the light.

New Super Mario Bros. 2: There weren't a lot of secrets here, but that's because I didn't have a lot of time to play this. I did beat levels 1, 2, 3, 4, and the fortress, though. Other than that, there isn't much else to say.

Kirby's Dream Land 3: I got all the Heart Star Icons in World 2, and beat the shark Acro. I'd tell you how I got them, but it's getting late.

Today was Sean's 46th birthday. I made a card for him.

Now to video games (even though I love Sean)

Kirby's Dream Land 3: I beat world 3 and the boss duo Pon and Con, but I'm having trouble beating the boss Ado. She can make her drawings come to life, and she draws 4 sub-bosses: the ice dinosaur, the angelfish, the sun guy and the moon guy, and the cloud with the one eye. Not only do you have to beat the 4 sub-bosses, when you have to beat Ado head on, you have to actually hit her, thus taking out half of a health point. That means that you have to have at least 1 full health point to defeat Ado. without dying. I beat her before, but I deleted my previous file.

Super Mario Bros. 2: I warped to world 4, and beat world 4-1. Other than that, there isn't much else to say.

New Super Mario Bros. U: This one was good. I played with my brother Chase, and his two friends, Robert and Brett. We beat 3 worlds. Chase, Robert, and Brett just wanted to speed through the game, but I don't blame them, although, Chase (Blue Toad) ran ahead of everyone, which explains why we kept dying. I had 40 lives, but thanks to Chase, I dropped to 22. I think he just wanted to hurry.

I got Kirby Triple Deluxe for the 3DS, and Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga for the Gameboy Advance is being shipped to my house right now. It comes Thursday.

Wednesday, July 23, 2014

I tried to beat Kirby's Dream Land without dying.  I almost had it. On the other hand, Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga came in the mail a day early! Lucky! Anyway, I got past Hoohoo Mountain, then I saved and played the Mario Bros. section of the game. I got to Level 11. The game in general is great!

Thursday, July 24, 2014

I decided to just play Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga today.

Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga Main Game: I'm in Chucklehuck Woods trying to find the three Chucklehuck fruits, red, purple, and white to get past the giant tree stump guy. I got the red and white Chucklehuck fruits, but I ran out of time to get the purple one.

Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga Mini Game: This one's a copy of Mario Bros. of 1983 with cooler graphics, but I didn't put a picture of Mario Bros. because the one I played is in the cartridge, so technically, it's only kind of a real video game. I'ts still really cool, though.
